Requirements:
- • A good degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited university.
- • Master's degree in law or another relevant field will be an added advantage.
- • Professional law qualification and license to practice law in Ghana.
- • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a large law firm or a legal department.
- • Strong commercial and corporate law background.
- • Comprehensive and practical knowledge of Ghanaian law.
- • Experience in working in the extractive industry will be an added advantage.
- • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- • Excellent critical thinking, research, legal writing, and negotiating skills.
- • Good report writing and presentation skills.
- • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement/management.
- • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
- • Proven ability to work under pressure.
- • Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities.
- • Responsible, hands-on and eager to find pragmatic and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- • Negotiate, draft and/or review, contracts, and other legal documents on behalf of the Company.
- • Ensure general contractual governance by maintaining and overseeing the Company's Contract Management System as well as serving as the contract lifecycle administrator.
- • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders particularly on legal risks associated with business decisions and provide corresponding mitigation strategies.
- • Monitor changes in the legal and regulatory landscape and advise on their impact on the Company's business.
- • Contribute to the development of operational procedures, policies and standards.
- • Manage and act as the interface between the Company and its external Counsel.
- • Oversee the legal representation of the Company in disputes resolution proceedings involving the Company.
- • Perform general company secretarial duties and attend to other corporate governance matters.
- • Provide back-up support for programs aimed at promoting compliance with laws and company policies.
- • Keep custody of corporate documents and/or records of the Company.
- • Support the Legal Counsel in day-to-day activities.
